Fraction Land

Choose a challenge. Explain a strategy. Keep every teammate thinking.

Fraction LandClassroom team activity

Three roles. Shared thinking.

Work in teams of three with a whiteboard and marker. Everyone contributes to the reasoning; the scribe records the group’s solution. Follow your teacher’s directions for the board, cards and current classroom rewards.

1

Pathfinder

Collect the next puzzle and bring it back to the team.

2

Scribe

Record the reasoning clearly on the whiteboard. This is the only writer for the round.

3

Quizmaster

Present the team’s solution to the teacher and explain why it works.

Rotate each round: Pathfinder → Scribe → Quizmaster → Pathfinder. Collect a puzzle, solve it together, explain it to the teacher, then move according to the card type.

Choose your risk—and justify your reasoning.

Momentum
A standard problem: a correct response advances one space; an incorrect response has no movement penalty.
Leap of Fate
A challenge: a correct response advances two spaces; an incorrect response moves back one space.
Fortune Flip
A harder challenge: a correct response allows a place swap; an incorrect response returns the team to the start.
