About your teacher

Curiosity starts with “Why?”

I’m Daniel Polsky, a teacher at Lakeshore School in Calgary. I built this space to help Grade 8 students explore ideas, ask better questions and find their next step.

How I teach
My teaching philosophy

Ask why. Then make sense of the answer.

“Why?” has always been one of my favourite words. I love understanding how things work, where ideas come from and what they might become. As a teacher, I want students to bring that same curiosity to the world around them.

Learning is a journey we take together. I ask students to take risks and share their thinking, so I need to be willing to do the same. My goal is to build a fair, honest classroom where students feel supported as they find answers they understand.
