GRADE 8 SCIENCE · CONNECTED WATER

Voice of Water

One place. Four Pillars. A story supported by evidence.

THE PROJECT

If water could speak, what would it say?

Choose a body of water you have a connection to or find interesting. Investigate its story, then create an output that communicates an answer to the guiding question.

03

Climate

Describe the local climate and seasonal patterns. Consider climate change where evidence connects it to your place.

From a place to a story

  1. Plan your inquiry. Choose your body of water. With guidance from your teacher and peers, outline research questions and a possible output.
  2. Research the four Pillars. Record evidence, dates and source links. Distinguish what a source measures from what it suggests.
  3. Create your response. Use a format that carries your message: a model, video or podcast, expert interview, newspaper article, Minecraft world or another approved idea.

Use the original outline and your teacher’s current instructions for assessment criteria, requirements and deadlines.
